Some slogans and brand names are so pervasive, that they become engrained in our vocabulary, in our religion, and in our humor. Kleenex tissues have a different slogan (and decor) for every box, but the best is their old one, "Kleenex Says 'Bless You ".
Blessings, what are they? The Bible quotes many--the Aaronic benediction, Jacob's stolen blessing, the Beatitudes. Today we tend to dispense blessings lightly, accompanied by tissues or nostalgia. Here we get two choices--the first a pink, rather female looking box of Kleenex or the longer male member in blue. One box has on its bottom a mishmash of actual slogans, the other one a rather dingy poem which has embedded references to Genesis 5:2, 1 Chronicles 17:27, Luke 6:21, and Numbers 6:24. Gesundheit!
